The Weavers Guild of Minnesota has been dedicated to the education and promotion of fiber arts for 70 years. The Guild has continually provided the community with classes and workshops to promote interest and expertise in fiber arts, with a focus on weaving, spinning, and dyeing. The Weavers Guild of Minnesota is incorporated as a nonprofit, tax-exempt educational organization. The Weavers Guild of Minnesota is housed with other fiber arts communities in the Textile Center. Our space includes three classrooms with over two dozen floor looms and a dozen spinning wheels; a small retail space for weaving yarns, new and used books, and accessories; and an extensive reference collection. We are a volunteer organization that depends on the hard work of its many dedicated members. Tasks range from managing equipment and planning Guild meetings to demonstrating at the State Fair. Our committee chairs and board members provide oversight and planning for Guild resources and activities.

I have been playing both upright bass and bass guitar for 18 years. I have played in many professional orchestras including The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. I currently play in The Melismatics (a rock band the tours internationally and has acquired national radio airplay; in 2005 they received a Minnesota Music Award for best rock album). I teach all genres including rock, blues, jazz, classical, funk, punk and more. In addition to bass lessons, I also offer a "sampler", for people interested in music, but not sure what instrument they would like to play yet. With this package you get 2 lessons of each: guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard. At the end of the session I evaluate and recommend which instrument I think suites you the best.
